clever peasant pharmacy

I’ve reached the Madisonian equivalent of purgatory - I am now a "professional" (got my MLIS) as well as a "temp" (landed a six month position at Wendt Library).  Yes, I know, I should be fucking grateful for being employed at all.  And I am.  Yes, I am.  But I feel like the walking dead, like everything I now enjoy - a creative outlet, an office, a salary, health care - will soon disappear as if it never existed, and as if I myself never existed.  Cheery, aren’t I.  Anyway, the job has recently become quite interesting, since I’m doing a little bit of a lot of things (reserves, circulation, reference, instruction, digital archiving).  And I will be applying for a permanent job there; deadline is one week away.
