It’s v-nice to be the inside candidate.

Wow, so this is what it’s like.  It isn’t as if absolutely everybody’s falling all over themselves to assure me that I’m a shoo-in for the job, but yeah, I do have an incredible advantage.  And some people have been very sweet and encouraging.  Which isn’t to say that the interview/presentation process is any less stressful.  Oh, and what the heck am I supposed to talk about with my co-workers ALL DAY LONG?  I just don’t have that many questions left about the job and workplace after three months.  Anyway, wish me luck!

Poo-hoo, no more Wed. night Pupy

Caught Pupy (inexplicably pronounced poo-pee) Costello’s last standing gig at the Crystal Corner last night, and a good time was had by all.  Good showing by area librarians and librarians-to-be!

The son (Charles) of my two favorite teachers from crappy old D.C. Everest High School (LeeAnn and Ron Hughes) sat in on guitar for a song.  My bestest old friend George used to baby-sit Charlie.  Small world.

Best. Autumn. Ever.

My God, September and October were beautiful.  If we’re lucky, the rest of Fall, and Winter, will be mild enough to counteract the FIFTY PERCENT PRICE INCREASE projected by Madison Gas & Electric.  Yeepers.  We’re probably going to raise the rent at our housing co-op to cover costs.  Looks like that solar hot water system and solar electric system we installed are going to pay for themselves even sooner than was projected.

I just attended the lovely wedding of old co-op friend Enid & her man, Erik, officiated by another old co-op friend, Rabbi Laurie.  It was held at the Madison Masonic Center (just around the corner!), an imposing structure I’d oft passed but never entered.  It’s pretty dang huge, and there’s all these well-appointed sitting rooms.  Oh, and there’s a library/museum!  Now I want to go back so I can check that out.  In attendance were several other current and ex- co-opers, including Colin, who is also an old library school friend.  I want to apologize to Colin, because every time I see him, I wind up blathering on about searching for library jobs, not the most upbeat of topics.  We both recently applied for permanent jobs at Wendt Library, though not the same position.

I’m making movies with my housemate Jill.  We’re intending to do this regularly, and become involved with the fun and fabulous Wis-Kino.  Our first movie is just a minute and a half long, hee hee, without title and credits.  We’re taking an editing class at WYOU (community TV station) next week.

And now, on with the show…
